Landscape Design & Installation
Landscape Design & Installation in Dubai
Landscape design is the planning stage that everything else in a garden depends on — where the shade falls, how water moves through the site, which plants will actually survive the summer, and how the finished space will be used day to day. In Dubai, getting this stage right matters more than in milder climates, because a plan that ignores sun exposure or soil condition usually fails within a season.

What landscape design includes
A landscape design project starts with a site survey: we walk the property, note existing structures, boundary walls, drainage points and shaded areas, and check the soil. From there we build a concept layout — a plan view of the garden showing planting zones, lawn or turf areas, hard landscaping, and irrigation coverage — before anything is installed.

Garden planning for villa outdoor spaces
Most of our design work is for villa gardens, where the brief usually has to balance a few competing uses in one space: a lawn or play area for kids, a shaded seating or dining area, some planting for privacy along boundary walls, and space for a pool or water feature. Design work maps these zones against the plot's actual sun path and prevailing wind, rather than placing them decoratively.
Plant selection and turf
Plant selection is where a lot of Dubai gardens go wrong if it's rushed — species chosen for how they look in a nursery photo, without checking whether they'll hold up to full summer sun or the salt content in irrigation water. Our planting plans favour native and drought-tolerant species for structural planting, layered with seasonal colour where it adds real value.
For lawns, we help clients choose between real turf (typically Bermuda, Paspalum or Zoysia for this climate) and artificial grass based on how the space will actually be used, sun exposure, and how much upkeep the client wants to take on.
Irrigation planning
Irrigation is designed alongside the planting plan, not bolted on afterward. Different planting zones — lawn, shrub beds, trees, potted areas — need different watering schedules and delivery methods, so we zone the system accordingly and use drip irrigation for beds and borders to cut water waste compared to spray heads.
Hard landscaping
Paving, decking, pergolas, retaining walls and steps are designed as part of the same plan, not added on later — this is what keeps sightlines and proportions working once planting matures. See our dedicated hard landscaping work in the Services section for material options.
Design-to-installation process
We run every project through the same four stages: a site visit and consultation, a written design and proposal with a real plant list and phased timeline, the build and install itself handled by one dedicated crew, and a 12-month establishment check afterward so new planting actually takes root before we consider the job finished.
Dubai climate considerations
Dubai's sandy, low-organic soil and long, intense summers shape every decision in a design brief — shade placement, plant choice and irrigation zoning are worked out before the first shovel goes in, not adjusted afterward. Structural planting is chosen for heat and wind tolerance first, appearance second; a garden that looks right on paper but can't survive July isn't a finished design.
Frequently Asked Questions
It depends on the size of the plot and scope of work, but most villa garden projects move from site visit to a written proposal within about a week, then follow a phased build schedule set out in that proposal. Larger or hardscape-heavy projects take longer.
Yes — new-build plots with no existing landscaping and full redesigns of established gardens are both common project types for us.
Yes, most clients bundle the initial design/install project with an ongoing seasonal maintenance plan once the garden is established. See our Garden Maintenance page for details.
Irrigation is planned as part of the same design process, since watering needs depend directly on what's planted and where. See our Irrigation Systems page for more detail on how zoning works.
